And instantly, the patron question makes sense! And the catalogers don't. Imagine if all authors were cataloged under their real and not pen names. I'd have to look "George Eliot" up on Wikipedia every time someone asked for her work.
On a semi-related note, it took me most of the summer to realize that "Daisy Meadows" (author of Rainbow Magic series) was a pen name.

I unpacked several Dr. Seuss books a few weeks ago that were brand new, straight from processing, and they were cataloged under G for GEISEL!
