In video games I call the big-bad-guy at the end a boss. A major obsticle to overcome to win, that's a boss.

Purely in the interest of science, I did a keyword search for "boss" and narrowed it down to romance paperbacks. Here's the screenshot of the results.

I'm going to totally make a display of them.

Dan--those are great! "Doctor" is also a keyword winner. My all-time favorite Harlequin romance title for subtlety is "Spanish Doctor, Pregnant Nurse" (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/m/carol-marinelli/spanish-doctor-pregnant-nurse.htm).

David--now, see, I call the big-bad-guy at the end of video games a "manager," or sometimes a "supervisor." :)

My favourite romance title is "Covert coochie-coochie-coo". Oh and "The Virgin Bride Said "Wow!'" I've collected a list that I've found in my library system http://omgcreeper.blogspot.com/p/ah-romance.html
My delicate sensibilities!
